R.I.P. Henry Joe, rabbit

Henry Joe, our rabbit, died Friday, June 23. He was 7 years old. He moved with us from our pink apartment to Durham, then to Raleigh. In Durham he lived for a while in what would later become Alex's room, perched atop the highest box or piece of furniture he could find. Then he lived in the dirt-floor basement, in a network of tunnels.

I would say he was a friend of our first rabbit, Moe, but uh, they fought like crazy -- I have a scar on my hand to prove it after breaking up one of their fights.

Henry is now buried in the backyard of our new house. Alex was sad and sweet about Henry's passing. He has placed a picture of him and Henry at the dining room table so he can eat his meals and be sad.

A Day at the Lake

I like this picture of Molly. A nude, but tasteful and charming. Kind of like in "Calendar Girls".

Alex "learned" to jump off of diving boards and the dock at the lake this weekend. He requires a flotation vest and goggles, but he jumps. He'll take some swimming lessons this summer and hopefully that will help him.
