Josh and Alex went with Fred and Chelcy to see a movie at Southpoint, so Molly and I killed time in the mall. I ducked into Gymboree, a store whose prices normally make me avoid it like the plague, because they had a display of hats on sale, which Molecule will need for the beach. So in the store, I found a few things at a good discount that the kids could use, including the hat, and Molly found a pair of flip-flops, which she really does not need. I took them from her, but put them back when she was in front of the Gymboree TV, hoping she'd forget about them. But she didn't, and I had to go back to the store to get them or face a meltdown. For $6, I picked the easy way out. On the way home she fell asleep in the car, and was carried in to the couch, where she stayed asleep. Some time later, she roused from the nap just long enough to say, "Mommy, did you buy them?" When I reassured her that I had, she went back to sleep, nightmares of wearing the same old flip-flops from last week abated.
I hope you guys like them as much as she does.
